WAY OF THE SWORD

Kendo (Sword-Way)

Join the Milton Kendo Club on Wednesday evenings from 7:00–8:45 to experience the art of Japanese fencing with former Team Canada player, Paul Morgan Sensei (6th Dan). Kendo provides a highly cardiovascular class experience within the context of a classical Japanese martial art. Advanced players wear bogu (armour) and compete in matches attempting to score strikes to the wrist, abdomen or head.

Spirit & Explosiveness

A typical practice consists of stretching and warm-up exercises, basic footwork and striking drills, then split into advanced and beginner groups to develop speed, accuracy and good form.

Ancient Tradition

New students can simply wear work-out clothing for the first few practices and may borrow a shinai (bamboo sword).
